Parathion －methyl is also called 1605－methyl ,which is efficient organic phosphorus insecticide ,can prevent and cure many agricultural injurial insects .Its result is similar to that of 1605,but it is lower poisonous to human and animal than 1605.

  Chemical name: O,O-Dimethyl-O-(4-nitrophenyl)-phosphorothioate ;

      Dimethyl parathion ;  Phosphorothioic acid O,O-dimethyl O-(4-nitrophenyl) ester

 I .PROPERTY 
    Its appearance:Pure product is white crystal substance;Industry product is brown liquid ,Trade name: Sweeper.
   Its efficient ingredient is not less 50%.

  Physical and chemical properties: Pure product is white crystal, technical product is a yellowish brown to reddish brown oily liquid or wax solid with slight garlic odour ,m.p. 35-38℃,density:1.358(20℃)，molecular weight:263.20,It is insoluble in water, soluble in most organic solvents such as benzene, dichloroethane, etc .It hydrolyzes easily in water or alkaline solution, light and heat can accelerate the process. It is rather stable in neutral or weak acidic medium.

  II .USE 
     The product is efficient ,acute poisonous organic phosphorus insecticide ,and has remarkable efficiency on aphid , rice borer and so on .Controlling various pests on  rice, cotton , fruittree, tea, vegetable, etc.  

Toxicity: Acute oral LD50 of pure product to mouse is 18.3-32.1mg/kg, to rats is 14-42mg/kg, acute dermal LD50 to rats is 67mg/kg.
